Our Story
We met at work after Steven was transferred to my store. At first, I didn't like him because I thought he was there to take my job. Once I found out he wasn't, I started to think...Hmm, he is kinda CUTE!!! Steven and I became inseparable...We did everything together. After a couple of months of being friends, it finally happened, we became official! Steven and I were on our way back to my house when he suddenly pulled over, threw my car in park and then said, "exactly what are your intentions with me"? Needless to say, I was caught off guard but that was October 7, 2006 and we have been together ever since!
Everyone knows that Steven and I have pretty much done everything backwards, but hey, it has worked for us. First we got a puppy, then we bought a house and then came the engagement. Oh and did we mention, we have 2 engagement stories! Here is story number 1~ Steven and I were just sitting at home relaxing on the couch when he asked me if I had picked a date. I looked at him and asked what I was picking a date for...That is when Steven said, "to become my wife"! I immediately grabbed a calender and chose October 3, 2009. October is my favorite month and 3 is my favorite number. We tried to go for October 7, but the next time it falls on a Saturday is in 2017...Needless to say, we didn't want to wait that long!!! After months of saving, we purchased our rings and we have BOTH been wearing them ever since. And now for story number 2~ Steven enlisted my mom as an accomplice for this one. Steven and I went to visit her in Florida this May. One day, mom asked if I wanted her to clean my ring. Of course I said yes and she put it in her fancy jewelery cleaner. We proceeded to get ready and left for our day at the beach. Half way through the day, I noticed that my ring was gone but mom was quick to remind me that it was being cleaned and that she was without hers as well. At the end of the day, as the sun was setting, Steven lead me down Panama City Beach. I thought we were just taking pretty beach pictures but boy was I in for a surprise! Next thing I know, Steven was down on one knee with my ring in his hand, asking me to be his wife! It was very sweet and romantic...Our perfect moment! And the great thing about it...Mom got it all on film!
